Lacrosse gilt als die schnellste Mannschaftssportart der Welt. Von der indigenen Bevölkerung der Ostküste Nordamerikas erfunden, verbreitet sich die Sportart immer mehr über den ganzen Globus. Ziel des Spiels ist es, mit Hilfe eines Schlägers, an der sich eine Netztasche befindet, einen Ball in das Tor des gegnerischen Teams zu befördern. Gespielt wird dabei auf einem fußballfeldgroßen Platz.
High contact Lacrosse (veraltet Herrenlacrosse) ist ein Vollkörperkontaktsport und beinhaltet Elemente vieler verschiedener Sportarten wie American Football, Eishockey, Basketball und Handball. Die Low contact Variante (veraltet Damenlacrosse) ist technisch anspruchsvoller, aber weniger körperbetont, weshalb hier auf Schutzkleidung weitestgehend verzichtet wird.

The objective of the game is to use a stick with a netted pocket to propel a ball into the opposing team's goal. It is played on a field roughly the size of a soccer pitch.
High contact lacrosse (dated men's lacrosse) is a full-contact sport and incorporates elements from various sports such as American football, ice hockey, basketball, and handball. The low contact version (dated women's lacrosse) is technically more demanding, but less focused on physical contact, which is why protective gear is largely not used.
